Fuel Consumption Evaluation of Connected Automated Vehicles Under Rear-End Collisions

چکیده
Connected automated vehicles (CAV) can increase traffic efficiency, which is considered a critical factor in saving energy and reducing emissions congestion. In this paper, systematic simulations are conducted for three car-following modes, including intelligent driver model (IDM), adaptive cruise control (ACC), cooperative ACC (CACC), congestions caused by rear-end collisions. From the perspectives of lane density, vehicle trajectory speed, fuel consumption under modes compared analysed, respectively. Based on driving accident environment parameters, an XGBoost algorithm-based prediction framework proposed The results show that with IDM CACC mode have ideal performance terms total consumption; besides, flow more stable, speed fluctuation relatively tiny different impact regions, meets desires drivers.

A Monte Carlo Simulation of Chain Reaction Rear End Potential Collisions on Freeways
In recent research on modelling road collisions very little attention has been paid to rear-end chain reaction collisions, which is characterized by more than two vehicles involved in a collision at the same time. The core aim of the present research is to develop a methodology to estimate such potential collision probabilities based on a proactive perspective, where deceleration rate to avoid...
متن کاملBiomechanics of neck injuries resulting from rear-end vehicle collisions.
It has been claimed that 85% of the neck injuries caused by car accidents are the result of rear-end collisions. This type of injury is called a whiplash injury, and its mechanisms are not completely understood due to the limited ability to diagnose them using X-ray or MRI. Biomechanical studies including research on injury mechanisms, injury criteria, neck kinematics and injury epidemiology we...
متن کاملRouting vehicles to minimize fuel consumption
We consider a generalization of the capacitated vehicle routing problem known as the cumulative vehicle routing problem in the literature. Cumulative VRPs are known be a simple model for fuel consumption in VRPs. We examine four variants of the problem, and give constant factor approximation algorithms. Our results are based on a well-known heuristic of partitioning the traveling salesman tours...
